Mechanics Crane Truck Upfitting FAQs

We are a professional truck upfitter not a manufacturer. We install the mechanics body and crane and complete the full mechanics crane truck build in house, including mounting, wiring, hydraulics, controls, accessories, and final configuration. Our focus is delivering a jobsite-ready mechanics crane truck upfit, not just installing components.

A mechanics crane truck is a mobile service vehicle built for field repair and equipment maintenance. It includes a mechanics body with organized tool storage, work surfaces, and compartments, along with a hydraulic crane for lifting parts and equipment in the field. Mechanics crane trucks are commonly used for construction, utilities, fleet maintenance, industrial service, and roadside repair.

We install a range of hydraulic and electric-hydraulic service cranes on mechanics crane trucks, sized for the work you do and matched to the chassis and body. Cranes we upfit can include models with lift capacities from around 4,000 lbs up to 12,000 lbs or more, with reach up to roughly 30 ft and options like remote control and continuous rotation. Each crane installation is engineered for safe operation, proper weight distribution, reinforced body mounting, and integrated tool/storage layout.

We upfit mechanics crane trucks on Class 3 through Class 6 chassis using Reading mechanics and crane bodies that are engineered for vocational truck applications. Each mechanics crane truck build is evaluated for cab-to-axle fitment, weight rating, crane configuration, and intended use to ensure the upfit is built correctly and performs safely.

Yes. Most mechanics crane truck builds are custom. We regularly install tool storage systems, compressors, welders, generators, lighting packages, fuel tanks, work benches, camera systems, and specialty accessories as part of a complete upfit. Timeline depends on the scope of the build, but our mechanics crane truck installations and upfits are consistently completed faster than the industry average. Because we control the full upfit process in house and operate as a ship-to upfitter, we are able to reduce delays and deliver jobsite-ready trucks sooner than most vendors.

We can source the chassis, mechanics body, and crane for your mechanics crane truck build. Many customers choose a turnkey approach where we handle the process from start to finish, including procuring the chassis and equipment from the manufacturers, completing the full mechanics crane truck upfit in house, and then handling final delivery of the finished truck. If you already have a chassis, mechanics body, or crane, we can also install and upfit customer-supplied equipment.

Yes. We regularly manage multi-unit mechanics crane truck builds and fleet upfitting projects that require consistency, scalability, and reliable installation capacity.

Yes. We offer nationwide delivery on completed mechanics crane truck installations and upfits. We also operate as a ship-to upfitter, meaning the chassis ships directly from the manufacturer to our facility, we complete the full mechanics crane truck build, and then we deliver the finished truck to the end user. This process is typically faster than ship-through and helps reduce delays.
