Dump Truck Upfitting FAQ's

We are a professional truck upfitter. We install dump truck beds and complete the full dump truck build in house, including mounting, hydraulics, wiring, controls, custom accessories and final configuration. Our focus is delivering a jobsite-ready dump truck upfit, not just installing a dump bed.

We upfit dump trucks for construction, landscaping, utilities, municipal fleets, and material hauling. Each dump truck build is configured around how the truck will actually be used so the dump bed, payload, and components match the application.

We upfit dump trucks across a wide range of configurations, from light-duty chassis all the way up to heavy-duty class 8 quad axle chassis. Each dump truck upfit is evaluated based on the chassis, payload requirements, and intended use to ensure proper fitment, safety, and performance.

Yes. Many dump truck builds are customized beyond a standard dump bed install. We regularly upfit dump trucks with toolboxes, tarping systems, hoists, lighting packages, backup cameras, pintle hitches, spreader prep, and other accessories as part of a complete build. Timeline depends on the scope of the build, but our dump truck installations and upfits are consistently completed faster than the industry average. Because we control the full upfit process in house and operate as a ship-to upfitter, we are able to reduce delays, eliminate handoffs between vendors, and deliver jobsite-ready dump trucks sooner than most providers.

We can source both the chassis and the dump bed for your dump truck build. Many customers choose a turnkey approach where we handle the process from start to finish including procuring the chassis and the bed from the manufacturers, the entire upfit process from start to finish, and then final delivery of the product. If you already have a chassis or dump bed, we can also install and upfit customer-supplied equipment.

Yes. We install and upfit both steel and aluminum dump beds. Material selection depends on payload requirements, durability needs, and how the dump truck will be used on the jobsite.

Absolutely. We regularly build flatbed upfits for construction, utilities, landscaping, telecom, oil and gas, and municipal use. Each build is configured around how the truck will actually be used in the field.

Yes. We regularly manage multi-unit dump truck builds and large upfitting projects for fleets that need consistency, reliability, and scalable installation capacity.

City Truck Equipment provides dump truck installation and upfitting from our facilities in Kansas City, Missouri; Atlanta, Georgia; Houston, Texas; and St. Louis, Missouri. We manage dump truck builds and upfits for customers nationwide.

We offer nationwide delivery on completed dump truck installations and upfits. We also operate as a ship-to upfitter, which means the chassis ships directly from the manufacturer to our facility, we complete the dump bed installation and full build, and then we deliver the finished truck to the end user. This is typically much faster than ship-through, where the manufacturer handles final delivery after upfitting. Manufacturers are excellent at building trucks, but logistics and final delivery often create delays that can add weeks or even months to the timeline. Our process shortens lead times and gives you a jobsite-ready truck faster.
