Reel Loader Bed Upfitting FAQ's

A reel loader bed is built to help fiber and utility crews consolidate equipment and reduce the number of vehicles required on a jobsite. With the right reel transport upfit, crews can carry reels on the truck while towing a mini excavator or horizontal drill behind it. Instead of running separate trucks for reels, equipment, and support, this type of reel truck build allows the same work to be completed with one less vehicle, improving efficiency, reducing logistics, and simplifying fleet needs.
We are a professional truck upfitter and we install reel transport beds as part of a complete upfit. Our team handles mounting, wiring, hydraulics, accessories, and finishing so the truck is delivered jobsite-ready, not just with a bed bolted on.

We upfit reel transport beds on Class 3 through Class 8 chassis depending on the application. That includes light duty pickups, medium duty cab and chassis, and heavy duty work trucks. The correct chassis class is selected based on reel weight, payload, and job requirements.

Yes. Many customers choose a turnkey build where we source the chassis, source the reel bed, complete the entire upfit process, and deliver the finished reel truck. If you already have a truck or a bed, we can also install and upfit customer-supplied equipment.

Reel transport bed builds can include accessories such as hydraulic or manual reel carriers, removable pins, ladder racks, side storage, underbody toolboxes, lighting packages, power inverters, backup cameras, and custom wiring. Each upfit is configured around how your crew actually works.

Turnaround time depends on the complexity of the build and equipment availability, but our in-house upfitting process is consistently faster than typical industry timelines. Our goal is to get your reel truck built and working as quickly as possible.

Yes. We operate as a ship-to upfitter and offer nationwide delivery. That means chassis can ship directly to us for upfitting, and we deliver the completed reel truck to your location anywhere in the country, which is often much faster than traditional ship-through processes.
